WWE Live Event Results: Glasgow, Scotland (May 4th, 2017)

AJ Styles and Randy Orton were 2/3rds of the main event

The WWE is presently touring Europe with several live events from both the RAW and SmackDown brands scheduled to run through the middle of this month. The blue brand held a live event in Glasgow, Scotland on May 4, 2017, was headlined by a championship matchup that saw Randy Orton defend his WWE Championship against Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles in a Triple-Threat match.

The event also featured a 6-man tag-team match between Sin Cara, Fandango and Tyler Breeze on the one hand, and Aiden English and The Ascension on the other. Furthermore, WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi defended her strap against Carmella, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Charlotte Flair.

Former Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan went toe-to-toe, and the Usos defended their SmackDown tag-team titles against American Alpha and The Colons. Shinsuke Nakamura faced off against Dolph Ziggler in a singles match.

The co-headliner of the show saw Kevin Owens defend his United States title against Sami Zayn. The main-event of the evening saw Randy Orton defend his WWE title against Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles.

Here are the complete results for the WWE SmackDown Glasgow, Scotland (5/4/17) live show:


#1 Sin Cara, Fandango and Tyler Breeze vs. Aiden English and The Ascension

The team of Sin Cara and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) defeated Aiden English and The Ascension, after a matchup that saw Fandango pick up the win for his team. Following the tag-team match, English issued an Open-Challenge that was met by Mojo Rawley, who defeated English in what was a fairly brief encounter.

Result: Sin Cara, Fandango and Tyler Breeze defeated Aiden English and The Ascension. (*Open Challenge- Mojo Rawley defeated Aiden English)


#2 Naomi vs. Carmella vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship Match)

Reigning SmackDown Women’s champion Naomi defended her title against Carmella, Natalya, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. The champion retained her belt after hitting Natalya with a Rear View.

Result: Naomi defeated Carmella, Natalya, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair


#3 Luke Harper vs. Erick Rowan

Former Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Eric Rowan put on a back-and-forth showcase for the fans in Glasgow, at the end of which Harper managed to beat Rowan.

Result: Luke Harper defeated Erick Rowan


#4 The Usos vs. American Alpha vs. The Colons (WWE SmackDown tag-team championships)

The Usos successfully defended their SmackDown tag-team titles against America Alpha and The Colons, in a dominant performance.

Result: The Usos defeated American Alpha and The Colons


#5 Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Dolph Ziggler

Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance saw the Scottish fans sing along to his theme song, after which the Japanese Superstar competed against Dolph Ziggler- an opponent against whom he’ll compete at WWE Backlash. Nakamura beat Ziggler with the Kinshasa.

Result: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Dolph Ziggler


#6 Wolfgang, Trent Seven and WWE UK champion Tyler Bate vs. Pete Dunne, Tyson T-Bone and Joseph Conners

Glasgow’s own Wolfgang showcased his skills in front of his hometown fans and picked up the win for his team after finishing Tyson T-Bone with a Swanton Bomb.

Result: Wolfgang, Trent Seven and Tyler Bate defeated Pete Dunne, Tyson T-Bone and Joseph Conners


#7 Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn (WWE United States Championship)

Kevin Owens drew tremendous heat at the show after he dropped a kid’s autograph book, following which the Scottish crowd was very vocal in its support of his opponent Sami Zayn. The two friends-turned-foes put on a back-and-forth matchup, at the end of which Owens beat Zayn with a Superkick.

Result: Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn


#8 Randy Orton vs. Jinder Mahal vs. AJ Styles (WWE Championship Match)

The Viper took on Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles in a Triple-Threat match and successfully defended his belt after hitting Mahal with an RKO.

Result: Randy Orton defeated Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles
