WWE News: Match and Segment Announced for Tuesday’s Smackdown Live!

The go-home Smackdown should be a solid show

WWE have announced a match and segment for this coming Tuesday’s Smackdown Live! on the USA Network. The match which has been announced features John Cena squaring off against Mexico’s Greatest Import, Alberto Del Rio.

Also announced for the show is a Miz T.V. segment hosted by the Intercontinental Champion, The Miz. The Guests for Miz T.V. will be the WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose, and the number one contender for the WWE champion, Dolph Ziggler.

This coming episode of Smackdown Live! will be the final episode before SummerSlam. The matches for Smackdown Live! on the SummerSlam show include:-

  • John Cena vs. “The Phenomenal One” AJ Styles
  • The Miz w/Maryse vs. Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship
  • “The Viper” Randy Orton vs. “The Beast” Brock Lesnar
  •  “The Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose vs. “The Show-Off” Dolph Ziggler for the WWE World Championship.

The first match i.e. John Cena vs. AJ Styles is going to be a classic just like the one which took place at Money In The Bank  on June 19th in Las Vegas. John Cena after SummerSlam is done will be out of action for a while to begin shooting for the second season of American Grit.

The Miz vs. Apollo Crews is something that I’m personally not interested in watching, not because of the Miz, but because of Apollo Crews. I personally don’t think the company is going to let Crews go over not because he’s not a good athlete, but because he just lacks any sort of personality, which the Miz has, and hence they’ll probably keep Miz as the champion for now until they find someone more up to the task to take the title.

Mayors of Viperville and Suplex City i.e. Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar will be squaring off against each other, and if the rumours are correct then Orton will probably pick up the win. I don’t have any idea how this match is going to turn out because Brock’s move-set is pretty limited to just a few moves and Orton moves very slow. I can’t make any speculations for this match just because of the sheer corporate-factors involved.

The final match between Shawn Michaels, I mean Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose for the WWE World Championship will be good. So there is virtually no reason to fret about the quality of the match. Ambrose is going to pick-up the win because of obvious reasons! No, but seriously Ziggler ain’t taking the gold home with him now or anytime soon.

The card looks pretty decent in comparison to Monday Night RAW’s star-studded card. Let’s just hope Smackdown Live! gets something out of all this, as I think it’s sort of a B-level show as compared to RAW.
