WWE: Midcarders in desperate need of a push

Its a very cruel world in the WWE. You need to cover all bases if you are to be recognized as a top notch talent in the industry. One single loop hole can send your career vertically down the drain in a matter of weeks.

Week in week out, we see many new talents adorning the WWE ring, each one unique in his own rights. Some of them are destined for greatness whereas others just need that legitimate ‘push’ to take their talent to the next level. Let us take a look at these so called ‘mid carders’ who can make it big in the industry.

Cody Rhodes

Cody has a wealth load of experience coming from a wrestling family. His father Dusty Rhodes and his brother Goldust were legendary in-ring performers. He himself has garnered over six years of experience , making his debut way back in 2006.

He initially was a part of the ‘Legacy’ stable with Dibiase and Orton and feuded with the likes of D Generation X. He then proceeded to becoming a successful single’s wrestler with his self conscious ‘Dashing’ Cody Rhodes gimmick and also won the WWE Intercontinental title and held it close to 8 months.

He feuded with various superstars, but was unable to receive any deserved crowd reaction. He was again repackaged to the tag team division, this time with newcomer Damien Sandow and  they were dubbed as ‘Team Rhode Scholars’. They were pretty successful as a team, but it all came crashing down after Sandow shoved Rhodes to win the MITB ladder match.

The WWE did two things wisely here, one was to push Sandow to the next level. The other, giving some direction to Rhodes’s career. The next week on RAW, Rhodes attacked Sandow much to the crowd’s delight for the betrayal he faced. In the process turning him ‘face’, something Rhodes has never done all his WWE career.

This instant change of character and the fact that the crowd took a liking to him was pretty surprising. With Sandow anticipated to face Rhodes at SummerSlam for the World Heavyweight Championship contract, its high time the WWE cashes in on the idea and utilizes the underrated Rhodes. He is a technically sound performer and possesses good mic skills. He has wrestled the likes of Daniel Bryan, Big Show and Booker T, bringing his ‘A’ game to the party on more then one occasion. He can also boast of a Wrestlemania 27 win over Rey Mysterio.

With all bases covered, Rhodes has the makings of a future world champion.
