WWE Monday Night Raw: June 1 2015- 5 things that did not work

The return of the elimination chamber sure kicked up a new and exciting chapter in the WWE. The pay per view did indeed exceed expectations and ended on a rather controversial note. So, with RAW the succeeding day, many questions were expected to be answered. Will Ambrose return the title? What will John Cena do to avenge his unexpected loss? and lots more.

Besides all of this, Money in the Bank returns in two weeks and storylines need to get kickstarted too. So, with so much to deliver on, a lot was expected out of RAW. But, barring certain segments, the show remained plain. Let us look at 5 segments that RAW could have worked better on.

Roman Reigns vs Wade Barrett

Public Enemy #1

In Reigns’ first match of the night, he was put into action with king of the ring winner Wade Barrett. Considering the in-ring ability these two possess, one was expecting a decent match if not at least a classic. But, they failed to deliver even that. The Samoan took down his opponent in what was merely a formality of match and proceeded to defy the authority.

With Reigns expected to wrestle 3 matches on the night, it is only logical to have him wrestle for a lesser duration. But, why is Barrett being wasted like this? You expect someone who wins a prestigious tournament to perform better and not just end up being squashed in matches like this.

Miz returns and gets knocked out

More character swings expected?

The WWE is working on a big plan for Ryback. They made him defy the odds and win the Intercontinental title at a gruelling Elimination Chamber. They are now looking to elevate him from the mid card status and hence have planted him in a feud against the Big Show. The giant has always put over superstars in the past and this might be a good feud for both competetors. But, why assassinate the Miz to fuel the cause?

The Miz returned to RAW this week to face IC champion Ryback. Even before they traded any blows, the match was called off after the Big Show knocked out the Miz before challenging Ryback. Why put a former world champion in a position like this? First the Miz Dow gimmick and now this?
