WWE Monday Night RAW: Live coverage and results - December 22, 2014

 

Hello everyone and welcome to our live coverage of Monday Night Raw. Tonight, we hit the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN where WWE will be hosting it’s special Christmas edition of the show.

 

6:40 AM: This week’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW kicked off with Ho Ho Hogan coming down to the ring. Hogan hyped up tonight’s episode and ran through some matches. John Cena then made his way down to the ring to a mixed reaction.

6:45 AM: John Cena played up last week’s attack by Lesnar, and asked for a match with Rollins. Rollins made his way out and cut a promo about The Authority going out of business, and asked Cena to bring them back.

 

6:47 AM: Ho Ho Hogan made a match between Cena and Rollins to kick off RAW! 

Seth Rollins vs. John Cena

6:50 AM: Cena started things off aggressively, but Rollins used Joey and Jamie as decoys to turn things around, as both the superstars got their offenses in.

7:00 AM: More back and forth action as Seth took Cena down with a suicide dive and a superkick, but Cena came back with a sit down powerbomb and his usual combinations.

7:05 AM: Cena came down with a huge leg drop from the top rope as the crowd started a “This is awesome” chant. J & J security tried to interfere when Cena locked Seth in the STF, but Cena delivered a double AA on J & J, and then drilled Seth with an AA to pick up the victory.

 

Winner: John Cena

Backstage, Kane said “Bah! Humbug” like the Grinch. 

Fandango vs. Jack Swagger

7:12 AM: Both men exchanged blows, as Swagger took control of the match. Fandango quickly turned things around and nailed with a top rope leg drop to pick up the quick victory.

Winner: Fandango

Rating: ½ *

Backstage, Ziggler cut a promo about facing Luke Harper, and wished Harper the best for their match later on in the night for the WWE Intercontinental championship.

WWE aired a vignette of The New Day.

R – Truth vs. Adam Rose

7:20 AM: Rose and Truth did a little dance number and Truth rolled Rose up to get the easy victory.

Winner: R – Truth

Rating: Dud

Post match, Bunny tried to tend to Rose, but Rose drilled him with a spinebuster, and threw him into the steel steps and into the barricades.

Big Show vs. Roman Reigns

7:30 AM: Show was in control to start the match, as he worked over Roman and almost ran through him for a one count.

7:34 AM: Roman turned things around as the crowd started a “Boring” chant. Roman drilled Show with the Superman punch on the outside, sending him over the announcer’s table, and was counted out.

Winner by count out: Roman Reigns

Backstage, Ambrose cut a promo about facing Bray Wyatt later on the show.

Natalya vs. Brie Bella

7: 45 AM: Natalya started off aggressively, but Brie swept Natalya off her feet from the second rope, resulting in her hitting her head on the mat. Brie then dominated for most of the match, as Natalya tried to fight back.

7: 48 AM: Natalya tried to reverse Brie’s offense into a Sharpshooter, but Brie rolled her up. Natalya rolled Brie into a small package to pick up the victory.

Winner: Natalya

Rating: *

Post match, Nikki tried to get into the ring but Natalya knocked her down and posed with the Divas title.

Stardust and Goldust vs. Los Matadores and El Torito

7:56 AM: El Torito sent Stardust flying, as Los Matadores worked over Stardust and Goldust. Los Matadores finished them off with a backstabber and El Torito delivered the Lionsault to pick up the victory.

Winners: Los Matadores and El Torito

Rating: ½ *

Backstage, Luke Harper cut a promo about taking away the WWE IC title away from Dolph Ziggler.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Luke Harper for the WWE Intercontinental championship

8:05 AM: Harper took a cheap shot, sending Ziggler head first before the match even began! Ziggler told the referee to start the match, as Harper drilled him with a superkick and a sit down powerbomb for a nearfall! 

8:15 AM: Great back and forth action, with Ziggler drilling Harper with a superkick and Harper retaliating with the big clothesline for a nearfall.

8:20 AM: Ziggler drilled Harper with two superkicks and the Zig Zag to pick up the victory.

Winner and still the WWE Intercontinental champion: Dolph Ziggler

Piper’s Pit with Rusev and Lana

8:28 AM: Piper was welcomed by the fans as Piper hyped the show. He then brought Rusev and Lana out, as Lana ripped on the United States. Lana then showed Rusev beating Ryback down last week on Smackdown!, and then threatened Piper.

8:35 AM: Piper brought Ryback out, who beat Rusev down. Rusev and Lana then hightailed to the back as Ryback and Piper hyped themselves in the ring.

Santa’s Little Helpers’ 6 diva tag team match

8:45 AM: Emma was worked over by Paige, Cameron and Summer, as her partners Fox and Naomi looked on.

8:47 AM: Naomi worked over Cameron and tagged Alicia in, who finished her off to pick up the victory.

Winners: Emma, Alicia Fox and Naomi

Rating: ½ *

WWE aired a vignette for the debut of The Ascension on next week’s episode.

The Miz (With Mizdow) vs. Jey Uso (With Jimmy)

8:55 AM: The crowd chanted and cheered for Mizdow, as Jey took Miz down with a huge top rope plancha.

9:00 AM: Miz rolled Jey up with the tights to pick up the victory.

Winner: The Miz

Rating: *

Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt in a Miracle on the 34th Street Fight

9:10 AM: Wyatt cut a promo before the match, and said he was the king in the real world.

9:20 AM: Ambrose ran Wyatt through anything and everything he could find, but Wyatt turned things around by throwing Dean over the stage and through a table!

9:30 AM: Bray Wyatt picked up the victory by throwing Ambrose into a chair and a kendo stick after an entertaining match.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

Rating: ***

Post match, Wyatt tried to attack Dean, but Dean managed spray the fire extinguisher in Wyatt’s face, and put him through a table with an elbow drop on the outside!
