WWE Monday Night Raw: May 25, 2015- 5 things that did not work

With less than a week left for the return of the Elimination Chamber, the WWE had to come up with a stellar RAW as a prelude to the upcoming PPV.  The creative team did their bit as RAW did indeed have some promising moments. From Dean Ambrose’s weird contract stipulation to Kevin Owens going 2-0 up over John Cena, RAW pretty much solidified certain bouts heading into the satanic structure. Besides this, two back to back PPV’s is always a tough task to pull off and to build storylines for.

Let us now look at some moments that were the low points of otherwise what was a promising show.

Ryback vs Barrett

Not a very kingly performance

Ryback is battling out a solid feud with Bray Wyatt. Wade Barrett is the reigning king of the ring. Put them into a match-up ahead of the crucial intercontinental chamber match and you were expecting a classic. But, that was not to be as the king lost to whom he would describe as a ‘peasant’. Ryback defeated Barrett to gain some necessary momentum heading to the elimination chamber.

The match was honestly a lacklustre bout and it certainly is perplexing to see why the WWE are not giving Barrett his due. First dud of the night to say the least.

Adrian Neville vs Stardust

Time for some Payback at the chamber

Adrian Neville has been on a roll in the WWE. His matches against Cena and Barrett show you that he is worthy of a main roaster title. This week on RAW, he took on Goldust’s weird brother Stardust in singles competition. The latter targeted Neville’s injured knee and dominated initial proceedings. But, Neville strongly came back and won a lifeless bout. Adding to that, Bo Dallas attacked Neville after the match and further damaged the injured knee.

Same story last week and it turned out to be a dud again. Bo Dallas has been trying to establish himself as a heel. But, repetitive concepts don’t do much good.
