WWE: More news on Austin's return and possible Wrestlemania opponent
WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin has been making the headlines in the world of wrestling entertainment after speculations of him returning to the ring have emerged recently.
WWE and Austin working together
We noted earlier that the Texas Rattlesnake has been reportedly working together with the WWE after The Steve Austin podcast show was advertised this week on Monday Night Raw, which was the first time since its launch back in 2013. WWE also ordered the production of a bunch of different Steve Austin t-shirts.
Wrestling Observer has reported that Austin has been training hard recently for a comeback match which could happen either at Wrestlemania 31 next year in California, or at 32, which will most probably occur in his native state of Texas.
Many think that Austin could work either WrestleMania 31 in Santa Clara, California, or WrestleMania 32, which will likely be held at AT&T Stadium in Texas. Rumors have pitted Austin possibly against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31 if Lesnar was to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to John Cena at “Night Of Champions.” Austin himself has previously stated that he would like to work a match with Lesnar on the big stage.
Wrestlemania 31 or 32 is where Austin will comeback and possibly face Brock Lesnar
Stone Cold recently had hinted about a possible match at WM 32 if the right opponent, money and a good storyline is served on the plate. And if WWE deviates from their initial plans of keeping Brock Lesnar as WWE World Heavyweight champion heading into Wrestlemania next year, there is a high possibility of a feud between Austin and The Beast.
Given that the WWE universe never got to witness this battle which was supposed to happen back in 2002, it would be a mouth-watering feud for the fans and a fitting return for the iconic 3:16 to arrive, raise hell and leave even if it’s for one night only.
