WWE News: Abbey Laith comments on her WWE release
What’s next?
Following her release from the WWE last night, Mae Young Classic contestant Abbey Laith aka Kimber Lee has finally opened up about her release from the company after she took to her official Twitter handle earlier today in order to reflect on her release.
In case you didn’t know…
Abbey Laith competed in WWE NXT during late 2016, when she was used as an enhancement talent in the company’s developmental territory and suffered a defeat to current NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon.
During her tenure with the NXT, Laith mostly competed in live events and house shows, but, she did notably wrestle in a few high profile NXT matches, such as against the likes of Ruby Riott and in an NXT Women’s Championship #1 contender’s battle royal.
Laith was also a part of WWE’s inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament, where she had a very impressive run and defeated Jazzy Gabert and Rachel Evers in the first two rounds of the tournament.
The heart of the matter
Earlier today, in a recent tweet, Abbey Laith showed her gratitude towards the WWE and their developmental brand of NXT and thanked the company for presenting her with such a huge opportunity in the last year.
Additionally, Laith also thanked them for everything she was taught during her time with the company and stated that she wouldn’t trade that chapter of her life for anything else. Lastly, the former Chikara Grand Champion wrote that her path may have changed now, but the Crown Jewel is pretty much alive, indicating that her dream of reaching to the absolute top is pretty much still alive.
What’s next?
It seems like Abbey Laith will now compete on the Independent circuit, however, nothing has been confirmed as of right now, and we promise to keep you updated regarding the latest on Abbey Laith.
Author’s Take
It is always a disappointing moment to witness someone getting released or fired, however, we should keep in mind that Abbey Laith wasn’t doing much in the WWE and the company was also not using her to her best potential.
