WWE News: Adam Cole frustrated over not being champion in NXT, reveals his future plans
What's the story?
WWE NXT star Adam Cole is arguably one of the hottest stars' in the current day WWE roster. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the former North American Champion seemed pretty convinced regarding the fact that he should be NXT Champion right now.
In case you didn't know..
Adam Cole made his WWE debut at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III in 2017 when he along with his former Ring of Honor colleagues Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly attacked newly crowned NXT Champion, Drew McIntyre.
At NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, Cole won his first championship in NXT, winning the six-man ladder match to crown the inaugural North American Championship.
However, at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV, Cole lost his North American Championship to Ricochet in what was billed as one of the best singles matches in NXT history.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with TMZ recently, Adam Cole expressed his frustration regarding him not being the current NXT Champion. Cole firmly believes in the fact that he should once again be holding gold in NXT. He also claimed that he should be at the front of the line when it comes to getting championship opportunities.
Cole further stated that at the upcoming Halftime Heat, the former North American Champion will once again prove why he deserves to be at the front of the line. (H/T: Wrestling Inc)
"I'll tell you this much, the history between the six of us is a lot deeper than a lot of people think. But when it comes down to it, I'm a guy who feels like I should be a champion in NXT. I think it's an outrage that I am not."
In addition, the leader of The Undisputed Era also claimed that he will prove who the real champions of NXT are to all three of his opponents along with his Halftime Heat tag team partners, NXT Champion, Tommaso Ciampa, and North American Champion, Johnny Gargano.
"We have guys on the opposing team like Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, & Aleister Black who feel, for some reason, they're in the front of the line. I'm very aware that Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano have championships in NXT but when it comes to the front of the line, that's all Adam Cole. Adam Cole's not in the back of the line anywhere. So these three guys can sit there and say that they deserve to be champion but at halftime heat, I'm going to show them, along with Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano, who the real champions in NXT are. I can promise you that."
What's next?
Adam Cole will team up with Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano to take on the trio of Aleister Black, Ricochet, and The Velveteen Dream at Halftime Heat on the 3rd of February.
