WWE/AEW News: AEW Superstar admits now would have been a good time to join WWE
What's the story?
All Elite Wrestling Superstar Kenny Omega recently appeared on TSN's Jay & Dan, and talked on a variety of topics.
Omega admitted that now would have been a good time for him to sign with WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Kenny Omega is one of the first globally recognized athletes that AEW signed. He is widely regarded as one of the biggest Superstars today.
Earlier this year, rumors were running rampant on Omega's possible signing with AEW. Omega ended up signing with the promotion in early February. He joins an exciting roster of Superstars which includes the likes of Chris Jericho, The Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes.
The heart of the matter
Omega talked in depth on the topic of signing with WWE, and how it never happened after his forgettable run in 2005-06.
At that stage of my career, probably not. 10 or 12 years later, yeah, now would be a good time. I was actually considering going there earlier in the year, but AEW just seemed right for me. I always get really excited at the idea of having full creative control and just doing new things.
Omega also touched upon his incredibly short stint with WWE in 2005-06.
It just wasn't for me. I learned a lot of things that helped me take the next step after I left WWE. I had always felt when I had full creative control of my own person and own ideas that I could be the true me and show my full potential.
What's next?
Omega is all set to appear on the first ever show produced by AEW, named "Double Or Nothing". The show will emanate from the MGM Grand on May 25th.
