WWE News: AJ Styles announced in handicap match for next week's SmackDown LIVE
What's the story?
It seems that Jinder Mahal isn't going to take AJ Styles beating him for the WWE Title lying down, and has issued a challenge to 'The Phenomenal One.'
The two will meet at Clash of Champions in a title rematch, but first Styles must overcome the Singh Brothers in a handicap match on next week's SmackDown.
In case you didn't know...
During the SmackDown LIVE taping in Manchester, England, AJ Styles shocked the WWE Universe by beating the long-running and dominant WWE Champion Jinder Mahal to become the new WWE Title holder and earn the right to face Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
The heart of the matter
We've seen AJ Styles beat both of the Singh Brothers individually in the last month or so, but following Jinder Mahal's ambush on the post-Survivor Series SmackDown LIVE, where the 'Modern Day Maharaja' addressed Styles from the Titantron and the Singh Brothers ambushed 'The Phenomenal One' from behind, it was announced that Styles will face both of them at the same time.
Despite the numbers game It seems evident that AJ Styles still fancies himself as the favourite in the match against the Singh Brothers and in the title match against Jinder Mahal at Clash of Champions
What's next?
So far the Singh Brothers have been beaten within seconds whilst trying to upset AJ Styles but it's possible that Jinder Mahal could interfere and cause a huge upset on next week's SmackDown LIVE. Don't hold your breath though folks, this is the guy who was close to beating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
Author's take
The WWE seems to have abandoned their push of Jinder Mahal as the WWE Champion for their tour of India, and they've even dropped a show from the tour. Thus, there's no real reason to have Mahal come out of this feud on top, right?
