WWE News: Alberto Del Rio responds to backstage fight with local Luchador
We reported yesterday through Lucha Blog that Alberto Del Rio got into a big backstage brawl with a local Luchador named Rafy, (alluding to the Ninja turtles) in a Lucha Libre event that took place outside Mexico City. Del Rio took to Twitter to respond to the situation:
Just to clarify. If you inappropriately touch my fiancee in front of my face you have to prepare to learn a lesson. #Respect

It was first unclear as to what led to the incident. However, if Del Rio’s side of the story is to be taken as fact, then it was Rafy, who reportedly touched Paige inappropriately, leading to the brawl. The brawl ended up spilling from the locker room to the main hall, which connected the locker room to the area where fans made their exit.
As a result, many fans saw the fight.
According to Lucha Blog and friends close to Rafy, his face was heavily bruised, but he was stable. Some believe that there was something that happened afterwards, between both parties, Del Rio and Rafy, because the latter ended up posting an update on Facebook, saying that he was fine and for everyone to move on; despite his friends’ reactions.
After the event, the promoters (IWRG) and the journalists covering the show made no mention of the incident, but it created quite a buzz in social media among the wrestlers and other audiences involved in the local Lucha Libre scene.
Del Rio appeared at the event to watch his brother main event the show. Del Rio has been working limited dates, which he intends to for the next two years or so. He recently opened a restaurant in San Antonio, where he resides. Another major venture of his is being the President of the Mexican-American MMA promotion Combates Americas.
Watch ‘Mexico’s greatest export’ talk about his future:
Paige’s involvement in all this has definitely not helped her cause, as she is currently not in the best of terms with WWE. She is set to return next year, after recovering from surgery. Recently, she was also featured in a video where Alberto Del Rio insulted United States President-elect Donald Trump, while also praising Vince McMahon and Linda McMahon.
