WWE News: Alberto El Patron comments on Paige's WWE return
What's the story
Paige and Alberto El Patron had a storied romance fit for a Lifetime Original Movie. But even though the two have since separated, Alberto El Patron is still rooting for his former partner as she recently made her return to WWE.
In case you didn't know...
Paige was the first-ever NXT Women's Champion and went on to topple a once thought to be unbeatable AJ Lee to become WWE Diva's Champion on the night after WrestleMania XXX.
After having a run on the main roster consisting of both highs and lows she was forced out of action due to injury. But she never looked back and kept moving toward her recovery with it all paying off on the night after Survivor Series just a short time ago.
Paige also brought a couple friends with her in Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to form Absolution which was pretty awesome too.
The heart of the matter
On a recent media conference call, Alberto El Patron was asked about Paige's WWE return. It was a great moment for the WWE Universe but an even bigger one for Paige as she returned after a pretty bad injury.
Alberto El Patron said he thought Paige's return to WWE was fantastic and "just about time." He seemed very proud of WWE's Anti-Diva for being able to overcome such a career-threatening injury.
Now that Paige is back and the leader of Absolution she's showing her tenacity once more and Alberto El Patron seemed very happy for her success, and in spite of her painful neck and back injuries, she made it back to doing what she loves.
"That's the reason why she was out of the business and it takes time to recover from something like that and then she started working really hard for her big comeback, and now she's there. She's doing what she has been doing since the beginning of her career in WWE. She's killing it, she's doing a fantastic job. I said it before and I'll say it again, she has all the potential to be the most successful Diva of all time. We have to give her time."
What's next?
Hopefully, Paige will remain healthy and we will have many more matches to come over the years to come. She's still young enough to make a huge difference in women's wrestling but things have changed considerably since her departure.
But with the help of wildcards like Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, who knows which way WWE will book this exciting new trio.
Author's take
I'm very happy for Paige for being able to overcome everything she has had against her and is still smiling in just the same way with her tongue out to this day. It's not that she's bulletproof, but she displays a poise of someone twice her age, let's just hope she can keep the skeletons in the closet if there are any left which hasn't already been unfairly exposed.
