WWE News: Aleister Black confirmed for Raw's European Tour

Will Black make an impact?

What's the story?

One of NXT's newest recruits Aleister Black already seems to have earned himself a temporary promotion, as the newcomer will be joining the Raw roster on their upcoming tour of Europe. Black is set to appear in Lille, Zurich, Stuttgart, Liege and Rotterdam.

In case you didn't know...

After a brief appearance during the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, the man formerly known as Tommy End made his long-awaited NXT debut at NXT Takeover: Orlando. His bout at the event was against Andrade "Cien" Almas, with his performance and the overall match itself dividing opinions among members of the WWE Universe.

The heart of the matter

As seen in the following tweet, Black himself was the man to confirm the news over Twitter. The move makes sense considering that Black is European, with WWE likely hoping that his inclusion will help to spike ticket sales for the events. If nothing else, there will probably be a rise in attendance figures in Rotterdam as Black's home country is The Netherlands.

What's next?

It remains to be seen whether or not Black will make a good impression on the house shows, but either way, it's a good sign that he's already being trusted with appearing at the events. However, right now the primary focus should be building a reputation down in NXT as the brand is in serious need of some star power right now.

Author's take

Black's debut match in Orlando wasn't all that impressive from the perspective of someone who was there live in the audience, but perhaps that was down to the reaction of the crowd more so than anything else. This seems like nothing more than a marketing technique, and there's nothing wrong with that, but WWE needs to be careful when it comes to how they book him across these shows.
