WWE News: Alexa Bliss talks about being traded to RAW and who she wants to work with
What’s the story?
As reported by Yahoo Sports, Alexa Bliss spoke about being drafted to RAW, who she’d like to face on the red brand, her camaraderie with Bayley, Mickie James, how she relates to Nia Jax, her Wrestlemania 34 plans and much more.
In case you didn’t know...
Alexa Bliss (Alexis Kaufman) is a former 2-time SmackDown Women’s champion and has now been traded to Monday Night RAW in the recent Superstar Shake-Up.
The heart of the matter
Bliss began by speaking about the pros and cons of changing brands, here’s what the Former SmackDown Women’s Champion had to say:
“Some of the cons would definitely be uprooting everything, changing, getting a new schedule, having to meet new people and build relationships with those people almost every eight months now. But there are plenty of pros. I still do get to meet new people, it’s a new environment, a new opportunity. I’m really excited.”
She then went on to talk about who she wants to face in the future:
“Opponent-wise, I’m really excited to work with Bayley. I had a lot of my best matches with her at NXT, she helped me develop a lot as a character and in-ring performer. I’m really excited to work with her again and see how much we’ve both changed in a year. Also, Nia Jax, because we’re really, really close friends and I’m excited to be with her again. It’s going to be awesome.”
Bliss also praised her former opponents Naomi as well as Mickie James, stating that her wins and losses to them have helped further their storylines, pointing out Naomi’s title-winning performance at WrestleMania 33.
She added that she appreciates the work veteran WWE female performers such as Natalya and Nikki Bella have done and also lauded Nia Jax and Charlotte for being confident despite being relatively muscular compared to your average female pro-wrestler.
Miss Bliss credited her cosplay-inspired ring-gear to an idea pitched by her real-life fiancée Buddy Murphy and professed her love for movie villains, from whom she derives her inspiration for the aforementioned costumes. Alexa signed off by saying that she hopes to be the WWE RAW Women’s champion by the end of this year and that she’d love to have a women’s matchup main-event WrestleMania 34.
What’s next?
Bliss is now officially a member of the RAW roster and will compete against names such as the aforementioned Bayley, James and Jax amongst others- most of whom she’s already familiar with since her days in NXT.
