WWE news and notes

Here are some of the current goings on in WWE this week.

- It has been reported that former wrestler Mike Graham, who died recently as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, may have been depressed about a job rejection. Graham reportedly applied to be an agent for chief WWE competitor TNA Impact Wrestling, only to be rejected for the position. Graham was apparently pretty distraught over the rejection, and reportedly could not figure out why they wouldn’t hire him. This may have played a part in his eventual suicide.

- As reported earlier, Beth Phoenix and WWE have parted ways. Phoenix was “fired” last night on RAW, as a way to remove her from television. In reality, Phoenix’s contract with the company was up, and she opted not to renew, citing burnout as one of the reasons. The main reason, however, was to spend more time at home with boyfriend Adam “Edge” Copeland, who is due for more neck surgery soon. Do not expect Phoenix to appear for any other promotions in the meantime.

- WWE legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts has moved in with fellow legend “Diamond” Dallas Page in order to get into shape for one last run. Page will be putting Roberts through his “Yoga For Regular Guys” program, which is extremely popular with wrestlers and other athletes, with many swearing it has changed their life. Success stories include former WWE star Chris Jericho and one half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Daniel Bryan.

- Brad Maddox, the former developmental talent who refereed the main event at this past Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, did not show up to RAW due to a storyline suspension for his actions in regards to potentially costing Ryback the match and the WWE title. However, via WWE’s text message service, it has been reported that Maddox will show up tomorrow night for this week’s episode of Main Event. At this time, Maddox is not signed to a contract (that we know 0f), but this could be an indication that he could be re-signed very soon, possibly even in a in-ring talent capacity.

- Smackdown! ring announcer Lilian Garcia was in a car accident recently in Los Angeles, CA. Although the accident was reportedly pretty bad, Garcia is doing okay. She recently posted a video via Tout to let her fans know that she is already back home and on the road to recovery.

- Ricardo Rodriguez has apparently donned a luchador mask once again, and competed on this week’s upcoming episode of Saturday Morning Slam, losing to Justin Gabriel. It has been reported for quite some time that Rodriguez, who is a trained wrestler, might be featured more in an in-ring capacity, as opposed to just playing the role of Alberto Del Rio‘s personal ring announcer.
