WWE Draft 2017/ Superstar Shake-up: WWE announces first Superstar moving to Raw from SmackDown Live

The shake-up has begun!

The WWE Superstar Shake-up has begun. WWE announced on its website this afternoon that Apollo Crews is the first Superstar to change brands. He will be moving from the SmackDown Live brand to Monday Night Raw.

Apollo Crews debuted on the main roster one year ago on the Raw after-Mania. After the brand split, Crews has made minimal contributions to the SmackDown LIVE! brand since. He was featured in an Intercontinental Championship match at Summerslam in 2016 but lost that match to The Miz.

He also was featured in a six-pack challenge match for the number one contendership to Dean Ambrose’s WWE Championship. He came out on the losing end of that match as well. Since then, Crews has been mixed up in storylines with Dolph Ziggler and Kalisto.

Before debuting on the main roster, Crews spent time in NXT and amassed a nice array of matches against Samoa Joe, Baron Corbin, Tyler Breeze, and the first ever Universal Champion Finn Balor.

It’s clear that WWE officials don’t see Crews as a top tier talent. That said, a change of scenery will do wonders for him at this point in time.
