WWE News: Austin Aries reveals mystery partner for Dusty Rhodes Classic
After tonight’s tapings of NXT from Full Sail University, it has been confirmed that Austin Aries’ mystery tag team partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament is Roderick Strong. They defeated the pair of Niko Bogojevic and Tucker Knight rather convincingly to advance in the tournament. They next face TM-61.
This is not the first time that Austin Aries and Roderick Strong have been paired together. They were a part of the dominant stable “Generation Next” during their time at ROH and TNA.

“The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” has had a great run in NXT so far, with him turning heel on No Way Jose being one of his most memorable moments so far.
He was apparently scheduled to feud with Hideo Itami after the seed was planted at NXT TakeOver: Back To Brooklyn this August, by returning and hitting with a GTS much to the crowd’s delight. However, that seems to be bleak now after Hideo Itami suffered a neck injury and is expected to be out for 2 months.
After the match, Strong and Aries were interviewed backstage where they talked about their accomplishments, their friendship and the things that they have been through. Apart from that, they believe that they are the perfect tag-team and are confident about winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. Here is the interview:
After the event, Roderick Strong was interviewed backstage, where he spoke about taking on each of the NXT superstars and make them fall “one by one” and said that it will be “ Roddy vs The World”. You can catch the interview right here:
Strong finally signed with WWE after an eleven year run in ROH and multiple short stints at TNA.
According to wrestlinginc.com, it has been revealed that the WWE officials are already high on Strong and were impressed by the performance he delivered on his debut. So it can be said that the future holds great things for him.
