What’s the story?

The WWE has reportedly submitted a trademark for RAW’s new stable ‘Absolution’.

Apparently, the faction’s name ‘Absolution’, led by former WWE Divas Champion Paige is being trademarked by the WWE, which in turn is being touted by industry insiders as a sign that the promotion may have big plans for the group in the days to come. Fans can see a screenshot of the trademark application below—

In case you didn’t know…

Paige returned to WWE on Monday Night RAW a few days back, and brought up NXT Superstars Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville with her as part of the new stable named ‘Absolution’.

Per the vast majority of professional wrestling pundits, Absolution is set to play a key role in the RAW Women’s Division in the days to come.

The heart of the matter

The WWE has applied for a trademark on the term ‘Absolution’—something that’ll likely be granted to the promotion in the near future; as evidenced by several other notable trademarks acquired by WWE including popular catchphrases such as ‘3:16’ as well as its Superstar names in the past.

Furthermore, the WWE also trademarks virtually all of its stables/ Tag Teams’ names as well. One ought to note that not all trademark applications on part of WWE are successfully granted.

Nevertheless, with Paige, Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville playing a pivotal role on the promotion’s flagship show Monday Night RAW, the higher-ups are in fact lobbying to trademark ‘Absolution’—a surefire sign, that WWE is planning to utilize the stable in a major capacity in the near future.

What’s next?

After cornering Asuka last week on RAW, it looks like Absolution will move into some sort of feud with the 'Empress of Tomorrow'.

Author’s take

Well, Absolution seem to be so very impressive that the WWE is batting for a trademark on the team right off the bat (pun intended).

Honestly speaking, this is a great move on part of the WWE, and Paige’s awesome new faction truly warrants that the trademark rights for her group be granted to the WWE.
