WWE News: Baron Corbin set to create history at WrestleMania 35
What's the story?
Baron Corbin is set to create a unique record at WrestleMania 35.
Corbin will be the first-ever Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner to go on to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania.
In case you didn't know. . .
Last night on Raw, Kurt Angle announced that his opponent at WrestleMania 35 would be Baron Corbin. The fans didn't like this decision one bit and aired their grievances on Twitter and Instagram.
Kurt Angle himself stated on his Instagram that he is aware of the fact that fans don't like what they're getting, but Corbin will be his final opponent for sure.
Corbin and Angle have been on each other's throats for a long time now. Angle made his return to Raw last year, by winning the Global Battle Royal and advancing to the Crown Jewel World Cup.
The heart of the matter
Baron Corbin won the 3rd annual Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, and will be the first ever winner of the battle royal to go on to compete in a one-on-one match at The Grandest Stage Of Them All.
The first ever winner, Cesaro, has yet to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania.
The Big Show and Matt Hardy have been in one-on-one encounters at WrestleMania in the past, but haven't done that since winning the battle royal.
Mojo Rawley soon fizzled out and became a jobber to the stars after winning the match at WrestleMania 33.
What's next?
If plans don't change at the final moment and Corbin goes on to wrestle Angle in his final WWE match at WrestleMania, he will make history by being the first winner of the coveted battle royal to actually have a traditional one-on-one match at The Show of Shows.
Will Corbin actually wrestle Angle at Mania? Will he get replaced at the last moment? Sound off!
