What’s the story?

Former Smackdown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently sat down with Bleacher Report to discuss a host of topics, which included her take on WWE’s reality TV series, Total Divas, and the opportunities that come along with it.

Lynch, who will captain Team SmackDown Live at Survivor Series, also talked about intergender wrestling’s importance in the WWE.

In case you didn’t know…

A few weeks ago, the WWE Universe got a chance to witness the first intergender wrestling match in a few years when Becky Lynch stepped into the ring with the recently released James Ellsworth and picked up the win via submission.

The heart of the matter

During her interview with Bleacher Report, Becky Lynch admitted that a Total Divas role is not something she would ever like to consider for herself, but added that it is a great opportunity for other female stars in the WWE. The Irish superstar said that she has never visualized herself in a Total Divas role because she does not want to reveal too much of her personal life.

“There’s a certain mystique about myself that I’d like to keep. I don’t want to give out too much of Rebecca Quinn,” Lynch stated.

The former Smackdown Women’s Champion said that while competing against James Ellsworth on Smackdown, her only hope was that she didn’t want people to get bothered by a man touching a woman.

Lynch then added that the match was only for the sake of entertainment and she did not want to make a political or social issue out of it.

What’s next?

Becky Lynch’s next big task is to lead the Smackdown women’s team at Survivor Series, as she is all set to captain the blue brand’s female team in their match against the Raw women’s team on Sunday, November 19th.

The 30-year-old will be standing side by side against Carmella, Tamina, Naomi, and a fifth mystery partner as they set to do battle against the red team of Asuka, Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks, and Bayley.

Author’s take

I totally support Becky Lynch’s opinion regarding her take on the Total Divas show and respect her decision to not allow the rest of the world to get a peek into her personal life.
