WWE News: Beth Phoenix picks her favourite to win the women's Royal Rumble match
What’s the story?
Former WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix was recently a guest on the E&C podcast, where she revealed her potential favourite to win the upcoming first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match.
In case you didn’t know…
Monday Night Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon recently announced that WWE will host the first-ever over the top rope women’s Royal Rumble match, next year during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia will witness history in January of 2018 when the talented women of the WWE continue to develop the women’s revolution.
The heart of the matter
During Beth Phoenix appearance at the E&C podcast, Phoenix was in interaction with her husband and former WWE World Champion Edge, who asked his wife to reveal her favourite to win the women’s Royal Rumble match next year.
Phoenix claimed that the Royal Rumble will be a very cool opportunity for former Smackdown Live women’s champion Natalya to debut a new vicious character, especially after cutting such amazing promos a few weeks ago.
However, according to Phoenix, the ultimate winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match is going to be the leader of Absolution, Paige. Phoenix believes that former NXT Women’s Champion Paige has a ton of momentum right now on her side, due to her making such an awaited return to the WWE after almost an absence of one year.
What’s next?
The women’s Royal Rumble match will take place on January 28 at Philadelphia and so far only three women have announced their entry into the match and they are Asuka, Naomi, and Natalya.
On the other hand, Beth Phoenix also teased an appearance as a special entrant at the women’s Royal Rumble match. The 37-year-old added ever since the announcement of the women’s Royal Rumble match, her phone has been blowing up with questions regarding a potential return to the Rumble.
Author’s Take
I think Beth Phoenix picking Paige as the winner of the Royal Rumble is a very justified answer, the former Divas Champion has been riding high on momentum ever since her return to the WWE and with Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville by her side, Paige certainly has a very big opportunity to win the Royal Rumble match.
