WWE News: Big injury update about SmackDown Live superstar
What's the story?
Last week, we'd reported that Samir Singh of the Singh Brothers had sustained an injury on SmackDown Live. He appeared to have rolled his ankle during a run-in on Bobby Roode.
Singh took to Facebook and confirmed that he, in fact, had torn his ACL. At the same time, he was thankful and gracious and couldn't wait to be back in the ring again!
In case you didn't know...
The Singh Brothers, Sunil and Samir, are the two sidekicks of former WWE Champion, "The Modern Day Maharaja", Jinder Mahal. They're known for taking incredible bumps during Mahal's matches, often involved in really breakneck spots.
Samir Singh tore his ACL on last week's episode of SmackDown Live. As we saw during this week's episode, Mahal was only accompanied by one Singh Brother- Sunil. Samir, on the other hand, was in a medical facility due to his ACL tear.
The heart of the matter
As one would expect, Singh is really upset and emotional about his ACL tear. However, he's chosen to remain positive about the same, motivated by the vast outpouring of support that he received from his fans and well wishers, spread across the globe.
Singh could not make sense of it all, suffering an injury during his very prime. At the same time, he had faith in a higher power and chose to see the injury as a blessing. As he mentioned in his Facebook post, he was looking forward to returning to the ring, once more.
What's next?
It remains to be seen where Jinder Mahal will be booked on the roster, going forward. That will determine the role of the Singh Brothers as well. The Royal Rumble should be a pretty good indicator.
Author's take
I've met Samir Singh and he was really the nicest guy ever. I really hope that he recovers to full health and can live his WWE dream, one more time.
Best of luck to Sunil Singh and Jinder Mahal as well, who should have some trying times ahead without 1/3rd of their act.
