WWE News: Big Show gives huge update on his retirement
What’s the story?
WWE superstar Big Show was recently interviewed by Brian Fritz of WrestleZone. During the interview, the former WWE champion talked about a wide range of topics including gaming, his surgery, retirement and more.
In case you did not know…
Big Show last appeared for WWE back in September and was involved in a steel cage match against Braun Strowman.
WWE wrote off Big Show on television during the match through a post-match assault which saw Strowman throw Big Show through the cage. The same was done so that Big Show could take some time off to have a hip surgery.
The heart of the matter
In the interview, Big Show gave a huge update on his retirement and noted that the match with Braun Strowman might not be his last.
“I wouldn’t say I’ve had my last match. I get asked all the time is there another title run, another tag team title run or championship title run. You never say never in this business because anything is possible and anything can happen on Monday Night Raw” or “SmackDown Live”."
The World’s Largest Athlete then took a confusing route and said that one last title run could be out of the question for the future but reiterated the ‘Never say Never’ quote.
He added that his last outing with Strowman was a torch-passing match and praised Strowman as well.
What’s next?
Big Show is out of action for the foreseeable future thanks to a major hip surgery. He is currently recovering with the help of doctors from New York and Miami.
In another interview, The Greatest Giant of All Time expressed his interested in being a commentator in WWE when his in-ring career was over.
Author’s take
It would only be fitting to give Big Show a proper farewell. He had an illustrious career and it deserves a good ending.
The likes of Mark Henry and Christian, to name a few, did not have such a farewell and the fans still complain about this. Hopefully, Big Show will not be added to this list.
