WWE News: Big Show talks about retirement rumors

Big Show is a 6-time World Champion

Wrestlemania 33 season is yet to kick-off but a match has been already confirmed for the grandest event of sports entertainment. Former World Champion Big Show will square off against the basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal at the show of shows.

Although Big Show has been drafted to the red brand in the recent WWE Draft, he is yet to make an appearance in the show. Moreover, in the post-WrestleMania season, Show has been featured minimally on WWE TV. This has resulted in rumors about Show retiring from pro-wrestling soon. In the last few days, the social media was buzzing with rumors indicating that his match with Shaq will be his final one.

In a recent interview with Adam Pacitti of WhatCulture Wrestling, the World’s Largest Athlete responded to the retirement rumors. The former World Champion revealed that his current contract with the company extends for little over a year and a half. Show clarified that he has no plans about retiring from his pro-wrestling career, although he agreed that his last remarkable main event will probably be his WrestleMania 33 encounter with Shaquille O’Neal.

Show also stated that he may not receive another spectacular WrestleMania moment at this stage of his career, but that doesn’t indicate it will be his last match at the event.

Show believes that he has the ability to deliver decent matches even at the age of 44, which prevents him from packing up his wrestling gear. Even if he retires after WrestleMania 33, he may be involved in other minor roles and side stuff for another ten years.

However, it is up to the WWE to decide if they will be renewing his contract next year. Big Show stated that he will be excited to leave behind a roster stacked with younger talents and hopes that they will enjoy a lengthy run in the company.

Another momentous aspect of Show’s WWE career are the numerous face and heel turns. In this interview, Show jokingly said that he has had more turns than NASCAR, however, he enjoyed portraying every role he was provided and has no regrets about his WWE tenure.
