WWE News: Big title change at NXT television tapings
Ever since Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish jumped to NXT from ROH they've been vying for the NXT Tag Team Titles. They beat SaNITy down as soon as they won their titles and haven't backed down since then.
WarGames might have only been a holding period for these two teams in regards to the title chase but Undisputed Era certainly showed they had what it takes in that history-making match. Fish and O'Reilly who were formally known as ReDragon before WWE are still very much a cohesive unit and are always looking to impress. They also look great as champions and realize this fact as well.
It all went down at tonight's NXT television tapings when SaNITy put their title on the line against Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly and it did not turn out the way Alexander Wolfe, Killian Dain, or Eric Young would have hoped.
Instead of reining supreme using their unique tandem offence and superior ring psychology, Young and Dain were toppled by Fish and O'Reilly. They lost their NXT Tag Team Titles in the process and it was quite a shocking display.
Wolfe didn't work the match and left the honours to Killian Dain and Eric Young. After the brutal split head he suffered at NXT TakeOver: Wargames they probably need to give him a little more time to heal. But after a hard-fought battle, it was the Undisputed Era walking out as the new NXT Tag Team Champions.
Full Sail Arena exploded as the Undisputed Era's resident tag team specialists walked away with the top tag team prize in WWE's developmental territory. It was kind of evident Undisputed Era will eventually be covered in gold not only because of their past but their unbelievable future. But it looks like they got things off to a very good start at tonight's television tapings.
However, it doesn't look like NXT is slowing down on one member of SaNITy's push at least. Because Killian Dain was announced as part of a fatal four-way match to decide the next #1 contender for Andrade "Cien" Almas' NXT Title. Whether he wins the match or not, Dain's involvement still shows that he still has a bright future ahead of him much like his SaNITy cohorts.
