WWE News: Big E talks about Money in the Bank pay-per-view, his gimmick and more
One half of the current WWE Tag Team Champions, Big E, recently spoke with VegasSeven.com. According to dailywrestlingnews.com, it was to promote the upcoming Money In the Bank pay-per-view. The highlights are provided below :
Regarding the Fatal 4 way title match at the pay-per-view :
I think the cool thing for us is that we’re always looking for a test and challenge, and the Fatal 4-Way features three teams that weren’t even on the main roster as of last May, so the fact that we have three teams, all with some semblance of momentum (I think The Club has the most momentum right now) is pretty exciting.
I’ve become a big fan of tag team wrestling, and you have four teams in there who have tagged together for years; none of those teams are hastily thrown together. In the past, you’ve seen guys just quickly put together, but we’ve been tagging for a couple years now, and all those other teams, whether it’s in NXT or, like The Club, in Japan, have been together a while, too. It’s exciting, and I think the match will hopefully be one that people are excited to see.
His thoughts about the other matches on the card :
I’m excited to see Seth Rollins—to see how he bounces back after his knee injury. He was affectionately known as the captain for the New Day going back, and he’s the guy who I think is one of the best in the world in the ring. We’re all excited to have him back, and to see if he’s able to recapture his crown.
And obviously, Cena and Styles is one of those matches that people have wanted to see for a very long time, so those are the ones that I think a lot of people will be excited for and I am as well.
If there is a fourth member for New Day, who can it be?
We talked about this for quite some time, especially earlier, and we always saw New Day as a faction that would expand and be larger than three members. Now, though, it seems like such a perfect fit with us three. But if we had to, we’re all such big Sasha Banks fans—I think she would add a different dynamic, though she’s such a strong, beloved character that I don’t think she needs to be surrounded by anyone. But if we were forced to pick someone, it would be Sasha Banks.
Who is his ideal observer? Is it the 8 year-old or the hardcore internet fan?
In all honesty, when I go out there, my ideal observers are Kofi and Woods. Honestly, we’re out there trying to pop [elicit a reaction from] each other. That’s what we’re trying to do for the most part. And we do stuff that’s funny and hopefully other people like it, and if not, so be it. Obviously we’ll try things that appeal to different demographics, and honestly it’s cool to us to see fathers who can sit down (like yourself) with their young daughters who can say, “Those are the guys with the unicorn horns and bright colors.”
And we also like to appeal to the adults who like the not-so-thinly veiled jokes and other more adult-oriented stuff. But, our intention when we go out there is to pop each other. So if I have to answer that question, who am I performing for, I’ve got to say it’s my brothers in the ring.
