WWE Rumours: Bill Goldberg might be closing in on WWE SummerSlam 2016 appearance
For the past few days, the rumour mill has been kept buzzing over the fact that Goldberg is returning to the company after a long hiatus of nearly 12 years. Actually, it all started when Brock Lesnar challenged Goldberg in a recent tweet, alongside his advocate Paul Heyman.
This led to the speculation that these two heavyweight superstars will meet somewhere in the future.
Goldberg appeared at Gamescon 2016 event in Cologne Germany and addressed Lesnar’s remarks and a possible altercation between the two. The 49-year-old said Brock knows where he lives and the same thing would happen to Brock, should he choose to confront him, that happened at Wrestlemania 20.
Moreover, Goldberg mentioned at Gamescon that he would be getting his first flight back to New York after the event, adding more speculation that something big is going to happen by the end of this week.
On Friday both Goldberg and Brock Lesnar appeared in the WWE 2k17 kickoff party in New York city, but haven’t seen face-to-face and there was no confrontation to speak of. However, it’s been rumoured that there was more to Goldberg showing up there.
There has been speculation that one of the reasons as to why Goldberg went to New York City, was to negotiate with the WWE. It’s been told, when the negotiations took place, Goldberg was asked who he would pick to have a match against and the instant reply from the former WWE and WCW Champion was Lesnar.
Moreover, In the WWE2k17 kickoff party, Lesnar was asked by Myles from #Trending 20 about what would happen if Bill Goldberg shows up at SummerSlam. Lesnar said that he would be charging Goldberg with Suplexes if he turns up in Brooklyn on Sunday.
With all this hype surrounding SummerSlam, it seems likely that Goldberg may well end up featuring in the biggest event of the summer. He could interfere in the Lesnar-Orton match and set things up perfectly for his return match.
