WWE News: Bobby Roode comments on Dolph Ziggler
What's the story?
Bobby Roode has talked with high regard about his upcoming match with Dolph Ziggler at Hell in a Cell. Bobby spoke at a WWE 2K18 promotional event to Dualshockers about what he expects from his bout against The Showoff. "I think we have the opportunity to do what he says every day, which is to go out there and steal the show," Roode revealed.
In case you didn't know...
Roode and Ziggler went head to head on the mic during last week's SmackDown. Anticipation has been building week after week as Ziggler has been mocking WWE Superstar's most memorable entrances. Coincidentally, Bobby Roode has the most flamboyant entrance of the current roster.
Their upcoming match at Hell in a Cell will no doubt be an opportunity to sell Bobby Roode properly to the WWE universe, as Dolph Ziggler will put the Canadian Superstar over.
The Details
Roode's interview with DualShockers was in anticipation of his Glorious entrance that will be gracing WWE 2K18 when it releases next month. Roode discussed the match with Ziggler further by saying:
"He and I aren’t that different; I said it on TV last night. We are really alike in a lot of ways."
"We both demand respect in the ring, we both want to go out there and tell a great story, and outperform everything on the show"
Outside of the ring, Bobby clearly has an honest opinion about the quality of his opponent; however, after Hell in a Cell, who knows what kind of relationship we could see between the two performers.
What's next?
Bobby Roode will face Dolph Ziggler at WWE Hell in a Cell on October 08, 2017. There are several reports suggesting that Ziggler's contract with WWE is due soon and that the Showoff is unlikely to extend his case. If this is the case, the former OVW standout has only returned to television in order to put Bobby Roode over.
Author's take
Bobby Roode does rely heavily on his entrance. He does have the talent alone, however, for him to connect on the next level with the WWE fans, so the creative team have to make his persona and story behind the gimmick and entrance work.
I have big hopes for Roode. But much like Nakamura, the WWE need to pace his path to the top. Roode says it best when he is asked how one can become glorious:
"Well, there’s a path you have to take, and not everyone is cut out for that path,
"There haven’t been very many glorious people before me and I don’t know if there are going to be very many people that are going to be as glorious as me after me. So, I’m going to carry that glorious torch for as long as I can and have a lot of fun doing it."
