WWE News: Braun Strowman mentions one thing that terrifies him
What's the story?
One look at Braun Strowman and you immediately know that there's little that can scare him. After all, he's almost 7 feet tall, strong as a bull and has the innate ability to terrify his opponents.
However, the WWE Superstar recently mentioned to the 'With Spandex' Podcast that he was terrified to be inside a garbage truck.
In case you didn't know...
Braun Strowman was tossed into a garbage truck at WWE TLC by Cesaro, Sheamus, The Miz and Kane. He returned not long after, emerging from the truck to take out the Miztourage.
This was the point where he became the top babyface on RAW. It was quite the intimidating sight to see him emerge from the garbage to take his opponents out. What was surprising is how the event terrified him.
The heart of the matter
Strowman revealed the following about being in the back of the garbage compactor truck (H/T IWNerd):
That was actually terrifying. I never thought to myself I was claustrophobic or anything, but being in the back of that and knowing I literally had split seconds to, per se, get out of the way of the compactor from being crushed, it was a little nerve-wracking.
However, he did mention that at no point was he in danger:
At the end of the day I feel comfortable doing it, because we have an unbelievable special effects team and stunt crew on hand and stuff like that, and safety is the first and foremost thought in their mind when we’re going through all this stuff.
What's next?
Strowman has the opportunity to become the next Universal Champion, when he takes on Brock Lesnar and Kane in a Triple Threat Match at Royal Rumble 2018.
Author's take
It is easy to sometimes forget that these larger-than-life characters are all human as well. They have the same fears that we do, and are all prone to the same things we are.
Like Strowman mentioned, safety is paramount in WWE, so real accidents are few and far between.
