WWE News: Braun Strowman reveals who his "wrestling dad" is in the WWE

Braun Strowman heads to the ring to tag with Bobby Lashley on Monday Night Raw this week...

What's the story?

Braun Strowman was a recent guest on Booker T's Heated Conversations podcast where they discussed a range of topics. One of the items they discussed is who is Braun Strowman's "wrestling dad" or veteran who looks after them, takes the superstar under their wing, and lets them know when he's doing something wrong, etc. (h/t Wrestling Inc.)

In case you didn't know...

After capturing several Strongman championships, Strowman signed with the WWE in 2013. After nearly two years of learning professional wrestling, Strowman made his debut at an NXT Live event against Chad Gable.

The heart of the matter

Strowman told Booker that the matches he had with The Big Show in 2017 were a passing of the torch from one big man to another. He also indicated that Big Show was basically his "wrestling dad" because Show treats Strowman like a son and whack him on the head when he does something dumb and tells him to not do it again.

The Undertaker and Kane could also be called "wrestling dads" according to Strowman as well. He would expand on how meaningful his relationships with those three veterans are in the quote below:

"Same thing with Undertaker and Kane; where, with Kane I have been almost working with him for an entire year on the house shows and just listening to these guys stories and things they have done. These guys have done everything there is to do within this industry, and they are a fountain of knowledge, so anything I can do to pick their brains and talk, and put a match together with, they are special because I know there will come a day when it'll be my job to do the same with other talents coming in."

What's next?

Braun Strowman will appear in the 50-man Royal Rumble Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event this Friday, April 27th, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The card also contains seven championship matches, Triple H vs John Cena for the first time in eight years and Rusev vs The Undertaker in a Casket Match.

Author's take

If you are going to learn from someone, three future WWE Hall of Famers is not a bad way to do so. Braun has done a tremendous job transforming himself from just a monster to someone who can lead the company for the next 15 years.
