WWE News: Bray Wyatt officially accepts Matt Hardy's challenge
What's the story?
Bray Wyatt took to Twitter to accept Matt Hardy's challenge to a fight at The Hardy Compound. In response, Matt Hardy put forth a number of tweets to prepare his 'trusted platoon' for the Ultimate Deletion.
In case you didn’t know…
This past week on Monday Night Raw, in response to Bray Wyatt calling him out, 'Woken' Matt Hardy appeared on the Titantron and challenged The Eater of Worlds to a match at The Hardy Compound.
The Hardy Compound is where 'Broken' Matt Hardy and 'Brother Nero' Jeff Hardy fought it out, during their feud over in TNA/Impact Wrestling. After Impact dropped their claim to the 'Broken' gimmick, it now looks like we will witness another showdown at The Hardy Compound, but this time on WWE TV.
The heart of the matter
Bray Wyatt responded to Hardy's challenge via Twitter with a single tweet saying, "I accept".
Now, it looks like the WWE is going full steam ahead with the Ultimate Deletion match, as Matt Hardy 'convoked' all the old characters used back in the Deletion storyline in TNA/Impact such as Queen Rebecca, Senor Benjamin, Vanguard the drone, King Maxel, The Dilapidated Boat Skarsgard and so on.
'Woken' Matt even sent out a tweet to his trusted aide Senor Benjamin to 'get the battlefield ready', to which Senor Benjamin responded in the affirmative.
What's next?
WWE is yet to announce when the Ultimate Deletion is set to take place. While originally thought to be held at WrestleMania, recent rumours indicate that the match could take place sooner than April 8th.
Author's take
Matt Hardy deserves great credit for daring to experiment with such a gimmick at this stage in his career. He certainly struck gold with his 'Woken'/'Broken' character.
It looks like Jeff Hardy won't be a part of the feud though, as Hardy hasn't mentioned 'Brother Nero' in any of his tweets. Well, I'm just disappointed he hasn't mentioned 'George Washington' the Giraffe!
