WWE News: Bray Wyatt teases WWE Championship feud against AJ Styles
Bray Wyatt is arguably the most deserving Superstar in the company today who hasn’t been bestowed with a title run yet, and while he is currently embroiled in a feud with the team of Randy Orton and Kane, many feel that he should be given a leg-up into the main event scene on SmackDown.
Bray Wyatt himself seemed to hint at a possible feud for the WWE Championship in the near future in a recent interview with the Mirror.
When quizzed about AJ Styles and a potential WWE Championship shot, Wyatt responded in a typically self-assured manner:
“ Oh of course. And I want to preface this with I respect AJ Styles. He’s a well-travelled veteran, he’s incredible inside the squared circle. He’s impressive. That is true, no-one can deny that. But I fear no man. I only fear God. And AJ is no God. So if and when we do cross paths, I see myself taking that(WWE Championship) from him, or whoever else has it at the time”
Whether this means that he is in line for a Title shot next, or if he knows something we don’t, we do not know as yet. But it is a highly telling statement to make as the WWE doesn’t usually encourage their Superstars to tease potential matches if they aren’t being planned in the pipeline.
AJ Styles is involved in a storyline with former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose at the moment, and while they seem nowhere close to done with one another, the WWE Universe is already alight with rumours of a potential dream match between Styles and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania.
While the Heart Break Kid coming out of retirement is a questionable prospect at best, a storyline involving Wyatt and Styles would be a much more pragmatic option for the immediate future.
