What's the story?

They went into the match as two babyfaces...two of the world's elite sports entertainers competing for the title. By the end of the night, Daniel Bryan had hit a low blow on AJ Styles and was the WWE Champion.

The world has been buzzing about why Daniel Bryan turned heel on such a massive stage. Brie Bella justified her husband's actions on Instagram.

In case you didn't know...

Brie Bella also turned heel ahead of Evolution, where her sister Nikki was supposed to face Ronda Rousey. The Bella Twins could not stop the onslaught that was the 'Baddest Woman On The Planet'.

Daniel Bryan used to be the most beloved babyface on SmackDown Live. He returned from injury, after being told that he would never be able to wrestle again, and proved to everyone that he was still a top tier WWE superstar. Nobody saw his heel turn coming.

The heart of the matter

Brie Bella expressed just how proud she was of Daniel Bryan in her social media post. Then she went on to say that one does whatever he/she has to, to become Champion, and that's exactly what he did when he hit a low blow on AJ Styles.

This is very much in line with her heel character and makes sense for her to say, considering the persona that she has been playing on television.

One wonders if the couple will be paired again, this time as heinous heels, perhaps against a babyface unit of The Miz and Maryse. Bryan did not justify his actions when asked in an exclusive interview.

What's next?

Daniel Bryan will battle Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. Many feel like he's going in as the underdog, against The Beast. Perhaps this was Paul Heyman's plan all along.
