WWE News: Brie Bella wants Daniel Bryan to wrestle again
What’s the story?
In a recent edition of SiriusXM Busted Open, Brie Bella revealed that she supports Daniel Bryan’s decision of wrestling again.
In reference to his passion and efforts to make an in-ring comeback, Bella asserted that she’d never hold back her husband and that she would lend 100% percent support for Bryan should he decide to lace up the wrestling boots again.
In case you didn’t know…
Daniel Bryan retired from the sport of professional wrestling — the announcement of which was made early last year, owing to concussion issues.
However, Bryan eventually started lobbying for the WWE to clear him for an in-ring return in the months that followed. Regardless, to this date, the WWE’s doctors have cited the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion’s brain lesions as a potential threat to his health and have refused to clear him for a comeback.
The heart of the matter
Brie Bella explained that although Daniel Bryan’s health is her foremost concern, she’s fine with the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion wrestling again as long as he's cleared medically.
Additionally, Bella elucidated she isn’t the kind of wife who holds her husband back from his dreams, and the thing which made her fall in love with Bryan in the first place was his passion. She added:
“The moment they told him he could no longer wrestle in the ring, I’m not kidding you, (right from) the next day he has done everything to figure out how to get back in the ring. He’s flown all over the United States to do all different you know, Oxygen Chambers, (and) all these different things.”
“You can’t beat that passion, and that’s what I tell him, that right there is the passion that people will never be taught… and I told him: ‘whatever you want to do, Bryan, I 100% support you’.”
Furthermore, Bella jested that Bryan is in fact very vocal on Twitter as regards conveying his desire to wrestle again, and she often calms him down in that avenue.
What’s next?
Daniel Bryan presently serves as the on-screen General Manager for the WWE’s SmackDown brand. His contract with the WWE reportedly runs out in the second-half of next year. Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff has expressed an interest in bringing the American Dragon back to the promotion he once called home.
Author’s take
It’s great to see Brie Bella lending her support to her husband.
As a longtime fan of Daniel Bryan, I’d like him to adhere to what the doctors say and take a cautious approach when it comes to a potential wrestling comeback.
