WWE News: Brock Lesnar advertised for Survivor Series go-home show

Brock Lesnar narrowly escaped the clutches of Braun Strowman at No Mercy

What's the story?

On WWE.com's ticket portal for the 13th November episode of RAW, The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar is advertised. This seems to be an indication that he will be working the Survivor Series show.

In case you didn't know...

Brock Lesnar was rumoured to be done for the year after his Universal title defence at No Mercy against Braun Strowman. He's had three title defences so far, one against Samoa Joe at Great Balls Of Fire, the second against Joe, Roman Reigns and Strowman at SummerSlam and the third against Strowman at No Mercy.

The reason why it comes as a surprise is because Lesnar usually just works four PPVs a year (five at max). He has already completed that quota of five PPVs a year but seems to be going for a sixth one.

Another reason for this to come as a surprise is that RAW only has TLC as an exclusive PPV for the rest of the year. The RAW roster will be featured in the co-branded Survivor Series. However, one would think that WWE wouldn't utilize Lesnar then as they could easily main event the show with a RAW vs SmackDown Live Elimination match.

The heart of the matter

Going into Survivor Series, Lesnar is advertised for two shows. October 23rd at Green Bay and November 13th at Atlanta.

October 23rd is the RAW after TLC and 13th is the go-home show. This clearly means that he is going to miss the two shows in between. According to Cageside Seats, Lesnar's next opponent is expected to be none other than the inaugural Universal Champion, Finn Balor.

This doesn't' come as a surprise. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Lesnar is set to face all five competitors of the Extreme Rules 2017 main event at some point during his Universal title defence (with the last stop being Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34).

If he is to face Finn Balor, then only Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins would be remaining for him to face before WrestleMania.

What's next?

Brock Lesnar may end up surprisingly being in the main event of Survivor Series this year. However, it seems like Finn Balor is just one of the opponents for him to go through. Hopefully, he doesn't squash The Demon King version of Finn Balor.

At the rate WWE is going to try to endorse Reigns, it wouldn't be surprising though, to see Lesnar run through Balor's demon persona.

Author's take

Brock Lesnar working Survivor Series is good because at least it'll only have made three PPVs during Lesnar's title run without a defence (assuming he defends at Fastlane).

However, I just hope that he doesn't go through The Demon King in another way to endorse Reigns. It will undoubtedly be frustrating if it happens, but then again, it is what it is.
