WWE News: Brock Lesnar odds on favorite to beat Goldberg
With less than two days remaining for Survivor Series, the WWE Universe is abuzz with predictions and speculations. With a number of matches lined up that will pit Monday Night RAW against SmackDown Live, the pay per view is sure to exceed expectations. The cherry on the cake, however is the fantasy warfare clash between Goldberg vs. Lesnar.
As per the latest reports, the Golberg-Lesnar clash is slated to go on last and end the show. Given the hype and intensity surrounding this matchup, it is only natural that this encounter of epic proportions headlines the pay per view.
NoDQ recently reported that Lesnar is a heavily favored to win the match and is the odds on favourite at 5/16 to beat the WCW veteran who has odds of 21/10 to win this Sunday at Survivor Series. These stats may not impress many WWE fans but it is evident that for the past couple of years, Lesnar has been the single most dominant force in WWE.
Moreover, this match marks the return of Goldberg to the ring after a 12 year hiatus. Goldberg’s best days are certainly behind him and his chances against an animal like Lesnar look rather slim. A win for Lesnar would bring the score at 1 apiece for the two men which might result in a blowout match somewhere down the line.
However, many look at this match at a one-time affair only for Goldberg and his future with the WWE is uncertain. The 49-year old also gave hints that it would be his last match when he called out Lesnar saying, “You’re Last!”
However, a case can be made in favour of Goldberg as he is one of the very few superstars that Brock Lesnar hasn’t conquered. The WWE Universe is upbeat with his return to the scheme of things and having him lose clean to Lesnar might spell bad business for Vince and Co. Many past and present superstars have acknowledged that Goldberg’s return to the WWE is one of the most refreshing aspects of the New Era.
Whatever be the outcome of the match, WWE Universe would be hoping for an intense clash and given that the match is set to go on last, WWE would want to perfect the finish so that the fans are satisfied with the show.
Will Brock Lesnar win like how backstage reports suggest? Or will Vince McMahon call an audible and have Goldberg win?
