WWE News: Brock Lesnar reveals why he signs short-term contracts with WWE and UFC
What's the story?
Former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar recently made a rare appearance at the Prince of Wales Centre, and answered a bunch of questions.
Lesnar stated that the reason why he signs short contracts with WWE and UFC is that it makes it easy for him to jump between the two promotions.
In case you didn't know...
Brock Lesnar debuted in WWE in the spring of 2002. "The Next Big Thing" went on to have the greatest rookie year of any Superstar, winning the WWE Title as well as the Royal Rumble match.
After his departure from WWE, Lesnar became a mega star in UFC, winning the promotion's top title in the process. In 2016, Vince McMahon, Chairman of WWE, and Dana White, UFC President, reached an agreement on using Lesnar's services on both promotions.
For the first time in his career, Lesnar represented Canada in his UFC fight against Mark Hunt, in a winning effort. Soon after, he decimated Randy Orton in the main event of Summerslam 2016.

Lesnar lost his Universal Title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35. UFC is planning for him to face current UFC Champion Daniel Cormier in a fight somewhere down the line.
The heart of the matter
While speaking with Rod Pederson, Brock Lesnar revealed the reason why he likes to keep his contracts short. Lesnar said that signing short-term contracts with Vince McMahon's WWE and Dana White's UFC allows him to jump back and forth between the two promotions.
Lesnar also shared the fascinating story of how he got into the UFC. Apparently, Dana White had been ignoring Lesnar's calls. The Beast took a plane to Las Vegas and attended a UFC show. He jumped into the ring in the middle of a fight, catching Dana White's attention.
What's next?
Although the UFC has yet to make an official announcement, the promotion is planning for a match between Lesnar and Cormier at a UFC PPV in August 2019.
