WWE News: Brock Lesnar to appear on New Year's Day Raw
What's the story?
WWE have confirmed that Brock Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman, will appear on the New Year's Day episode of WWE Raw.
In case you didn't know...
Brock Lesnar appeared on the December 18, 2017, episode of Raw where Kurt Angle announced that he would defend the Universal Championship in a triple threat match against Kane and Braun Strowman at the Royal Rumble.
The heart of the matter
The Universal Champion stood tall the last time he came face-to-face with Braun Strowman and Kane. The three Superstars came to blows inside the ring as Strowman was sent stumbling outside the ring while Lesnar delivered a thunderous F5 to Kane.
Lesnar is now scheduled to appear on the New Year's Day Raw episode of Raw. However, there probably isn't going to be a whole lot more than a Paul Heyman promo.
What's next?
Even though Braun Strowman has connected with the audience, the odds of him wresting the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar's grasp at the Royal Rumble are minuscule. Kane, on the other hand, is only in this match to take the pinfall.
Unfortunately, the Beast Incarnate is destined to lose to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.
Author's take
Paul Heyman is sure to cut a scathing promo on both Kane and Strowman before they interrupt him. The last time Brock Lesnar had a triple threat match was at Royal Rumble 2015 when he had a classic with Seth Rollins and John Cena.
However, considering the quality of in-ring talent he has to work with on this occasion, it would be unwise to expect anything north of four stars.
