WWE News: Update on Brock Lesnar's response to Jinder Mahal's challenge
What's the story?
On The October 17th SmackDown LIVE Jinder Mahal, the current WWE Champion, challenged 'The Beast Incarnate' and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar to a huge champion vs champion match at Survivor Series, and now it has been revealed that Lesnar will answer the challenge on next week's Monday Night Raw.
In case you didn't know...
Rumours surfaced earlier this week that Jinder Mahal would be challenging Brock Lesnar to a match at Survivor Series, and they certainly seemed to have some validity with Mahal mentioning Lesnar as one of the WWE wrestlers he'd like to wrestle against several times on his media tour of India.
These rumours would prove to be true as that's exactly what happened.
The heart of the matter
Following Mahal's Survivor Series challenge, SmackDown LIVE announced that Brock Lesnar had heard Mahal calling him out and would address the challenge for a match on next week's Monday Night Raw
What's next?
I think we can reasonably expect Brock Lesnar to accept Jinder Mahal's challenge, especially as there doesn't seem to be anyone on Monday Night Raw that is capable of beating him following his demolitions of Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. However, is Jinder Mahal really a good opponent for the proprietor of Suplex City?
Authors take
I'm also not entirely convinced that this is a good move for the WWE in general, barring some shenanigans at least one of their top two champions is going to come off looking weak, and that champion is obviously going to be Jinder Mahal (especially as even Braun Strowman didn't put up much of a fight).
Not to mention there's the risk of completely undoing of all of Brock Lesnar's build-up if he loses to Mahal. I would argue that the WWE shouldn't be putting itself in a situation where one of its champions looks weak,
