WWE News: Brooke Hogan explains why Hulk Hogan could return to WWE
What’s the story?
In an interview with TV Insider, Brooke Hogan opened up on a myriad of topics.
Brooke asserted that she believes her father, Hulk Hogan, still shares a great relationship with Vince McMahon despite Hulk’s public fallout with WWE. Besides, Brooke spoke about time healing all wounds, and why her father could indeed return to WWE.
In case you didn’t know…
Hulk Hogan is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.
Over the course of his long & storied career, Hogan performed for promotions such as NJPW, WWE, WCW and TNA (now—Impact Wrestling)—winning titles and breaking box office records everywhere he performed.
After being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame a few years ago, Hogan worked as an on-screen personality in WWE, before he was fired by WWE in light of a few leaked tapes which featured Hogan who apparently mouthed racist profanities.
The heart of the matter
While the WWE has been firm on its stance of not rehiring Hulk Hogan, the promotion did recently confirm that it was in talks with Hogan so as to rope him in to “help others learn from his mistakes”.
The Hulkster’s daughter Brooke Hogan expounded upon her father’s relationship with WWE boss Vince McMahon; stating—
“I know that he will always have a relationship with Vince no matter what has happened publicly. They have had a friendship and business relationship for so long—I think that time heals all.”
Additionally, Brooke urged everybody to refrain from judging her father for the one bad thing he did, whilst ignoring all the other acts of goodness the Hulkster executed over the years. Brooke added that, for long, Hulk was a role model to kids and a positive phenomenon; and that it’s wrong to crucify someone for one mistake they’ve made. She continued—
"I told my dad that times heals all and slowly all those things will go down to the bottom and the cream will rise to the top—hopefully, WWE will recognize he was the name the company was mostly built around. He was had that company on his back and the reputation and really did a lot of good for WWE—I hope they don't discount that."
What’s next?
Hulk Hogan presently continues to thrive as an entrepreneur in Florida, where the WWE/WCW legend operates multiple successful businesses.
The vast majority of professional wrestling experts believe that Hogan is likely to return to the WWE sooner rather than later.
Author’s take
Hulk Hogan has time and again reiterated that he’s a changed man, and is indeed looking to come back to WWE and make amends after the way his last run ended.
Racism is a sensitive issue, and with Hogan strongly emphasizing how much he’s evolved from his mistakes, it’d be intriguing to see whether WWE chooses to bring him back within its fold.
