WWE News: Bubba Ray Dudley reveals who he wants to induct him and D-Von into the Hall Of Fame
What's the story?
On January 29th, the WWE announced the The Dudley Boyz as the second inductee into the 2018 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Bubba Ray Dudley has revealed who he would like to have induct them on WrestleMania weekend.
When it comes to inductees for the Dudleys into the WWE Hall Of Fame, Bubba named Paul Heyman, Edge & Christian, Hardys as his choices. The 46-year old stated that any of those picks would be who he wants to induct him and D-Von.
In case you didn't know...
This marks the fourth year in a row that a tag team is inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. The Bushwhackers (2015), Fabulous Freebirds (2016), and the Rock 'n' Roll Express (2017) precede the Dudleys.
The heart of the matter
The link with Paul Heyman is well-known. The Dudleys got their start in 1996 for Heyman's ECW where they would win their tag team championships a total of eight times. In 1999, the Dudleys headed to the WWE where they would win their tag team championships a total of ten times.
The Dudleys, along with Edge & Christian, and the Hardys revolutionized tag team wrestling with their Tables Ladders & Chairs matches. The first TLC match was at SummerSlam in 2000, followed by another at WrestleMania X-Seven in 2001.
What's next?
Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for the latest on the 2018 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame. Some rumored names include Ivory, Bam Bam Bigelow, and Kid Rock (Celebrity Wing).
Author's take
The names Bubba mentioned were exactly the short-list who are suited to induct Bubba and D-Von. To be honest, if it isn't Paul Heyman, I think the WWE should have Edge, Christian, Matt, and Jeff Hardy all induct the Dudley's because of the history those six men have.
