What's the story?

At the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, both AJ Styles and Finn Balor, unfortunately, came up short in their respective championship matches and missed out on a chance to capture the WWE and Universal Championship respectively.

Following, their losses though, current Bullet Club member Tama Tonga took it to Twitter and showed his support for his former Bullet Club stablemates.

In case you didn't know...

Current WWE star Finn Balor is the originator of the legendary Japanese faction.

The Bullet Club, which was initially formed in 2013 by Balor (then known as Prince Devitt) who joined forces with Bad Luck Fale, Karl Anderson, and Tama Tonga forming one of the game-changing stables' of all time.

After Balor's departure from NJPW and The Bullet Club, the former IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion was replaced by AJ Styles as the frontrunner of the BC.

The Phenomenal One immediately made a huge impact following his alliance with the Bullet Club, winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship off Kazuchika Okada.

In 2016, prior to signing with the WWE, AJ Styles left the Bullet Club or rather I say, was kicked out of the faction by Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, who brutally beat down Styles with the help of fellow BC members Doc Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Cody Hall.

The heart of the matter

At this year's Royal Rumble pay-per-view, former Bullet Club leaders AJ Styles and Finn Balor lost their respective matches, with The Phenomenal One first being unable to capture the WWE Championship off Daniel Bryan, following a very strange ending to a solid title match.

Later on in the night, former Universal Champion, Finn Balor, who despite an outstanding effort against Brock Lesnar, failed to win back the Universal Title from 'The Beast Incarnate', as he was forced to tap out to the Kimura Lock.

Nevertheless, both Styles and Balor definitely have nothing to be ashamed off and one man who is certainly a proud good brother is non-other than Bullet Club OG, Tama Tonga, who posted the following in support of both his former stablemates.

What's next?

With both their defeats, it'll now be interesting to note what the future has in store for both AJ Styles and Finn Balor in the build-up to WrestleMania 35.
