WWE News: Bully Ray Dudley and Tommy Dreamer want Shane McMahon to fight in the UFC

Can you imagine Shane McMahon in the UFC?

What’s the story?

House of Hardcore founder Tommy Dreamer and veteran Bully Ray Dudley, best known to WWE fans as Bubba Ray Dudley, told TMZ that their friend and current General Manager for WWE RAW, Shane McMahon should consider UFC. Both the former WWE legends believe that Shane has exactly what it takes to make it big in the world of Mixed Martial Arts.

In case you didn’t know...

Shane McMahon was one of the most daring Superstars in the Ruthless Aggression Era having jumped off the Titantron during 2001’s Payback PPV against the Big Show, taking a 50-foot fall in 2000’s SummerSlam and having one of the most devastating signature moves of all time, the Coast to coast.

Even now he is an unstoppable force in the ring having jumped off of the steel cage during WrestleMania 32 and his recent match with AJ Styles at WreslteMania 33 which showed how agile and hardworking he still is.

The heart of the matter:

Both Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray agree that Shane McMahon has the two most important qualities needed to succeed in MMA, being a talented wrestler and being fearless. WWE Superstars like Brock Lesnar, Shinsuke Nakamura, Alberto del Rio and Batista have had amazing MMA careers and Shane too could be one of them if he wanted, according to these former WWE legends.

What’s next?

Shane McMahon quit his position as the CEO of the Chinese video on demand company “You On Demand” before coming back to WWE as a General Manager who also fights occasionally. It’s very unlikely that he will throw away his place in the WWE Universe for a UFC career, especially since he and his family run the biggest pro-wrestling promotion in the world.

Author’s take

Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing Shane in the Octagon for a bout but him weighing over 230 pounds, it would mean that he would have to face heavyweight fighters like Mark Hunt and Cain Vasquez which I’m not sure Shane can handle even though he looks to be in the best shape of his life right now.
