Bully Ray thinks Elias made an 'old school' error on Raw

What's the story?

Former WWE Superstar Bully Ray tweeted about Elias using a move from The Undertaker's repertoire during a match against Apollo Crews on Raw this week. Elias was victorious in the match.

In case you didn't know...

Elias is a current WWE Superstar who arrived on the main roster after WrestleMania. Elias is on the Raw brand and he's had relatively more success than he did down in NXT. His gimmick is that he plays the guitar and sings a song before each of his matches.

Bully Ray is a wrestling veteran known for his successful stints as Bubba Ray in WWE and ECW as part of the Dudley Boyz tag-team with D-Von Dudley. Bully's known, too, for his time with TNA as a singles star and is currently with Ring Of Honor performing under the Ray name.

The heart of the matter

This week's edition of Raw saw Elias continue his feud with The Titus Brand by facing Apollo Crews. However, Elias used a move that caught the eye of the viewers on his way to victory.

This was The Undertaker's 'Old School manoeuvre'.

Bully Ray, ever the outspoken man, weighed in on the issue. Considering he shared a locker room for Undertaker for years, he would have a pretty good idea of how 'The Phenom' would react.

Ray seemed to think that Undertaker would not be too pleased with 'The Drifter' known as Elias, seeing as he once too copied a leaf out of Taker's playbook:

Some fans thought it was a show of respect by Elias towards Undertaker, whilst others thought that it was disrespectful to use the move of a legend.

What's next?

With Elias presumably wrestling again next week on Raw, we will see if he uses the move again as a permanent move in his arsenal.

Author's take

I think there should be no issues with what Elias did. With his career now over, Undertaker should be pleased that upcoming talent want to pay homage to him.

However, I would recommend Elias does not do this too regularly, or any other Superstar, because an Undertaker return cannot be written off.
