WWE News: Bully Ray gives his thoughts on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens being sent home
What’s the story?
Former WWE Tag Team Champion and one half of the Dudley Boyz, Bubba Ray Dudley, recently spoke with Busted Open Radio regarding the situation surrounding Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who were both sent home from WWE’s ongoing European tour.
In case you didn’t know…
Following this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, WWE sent Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens home due to an undisclosed reason.
The two men were sent home reportedly due to disciplinary issues, however, the WWE hasn't released an official statement yet.
On TV, both Zayn and Owens are currently in a feud with the WWE authority, and Shane McMahon, in particular, which means that this could either possibly be a part of their on-going storyline or could also possibly be a shoot, meaning that the two men have been genuinely sent back home by the WWE.
The heart of the matter
In his interview with Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray gave his take on the situation and stated that in the wrestling business there are times when a Superstar decides to do something that benefits himself which might not go down well with the company or the angle that they are willing to push forward.
Ray then added that if a wrestler during the Attitude Era decided to go against the script then it would have been tolerated. But now it is strictly against the company’s rules and policies and will not be tolerated.
He went on to add that Vince McMahon has a very strong message for today’s generation of wrestlers, which is: ‘This is my business. I’m a billionaire. I created this place. Do what you’re told, or I don’t care who you are, I will send you home and I will send you home so you can think about your screw-ups”.
What’s next?
The WWE Universe is yet to receive a proper explanation or report from the WWE regarding this situation.
There is a chance of this being possibly another twist in the Shane McMahon vs Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens storyline.
Author’s Take
I think this could be part of the current angle between Owens and Sami against the Smackdown authority and I believe that the two men will be brought back to the company at this year’s Survivor Series and cost Shane McMahon’s team his match against Team Raw, come November 19th.
However, we also should not rule out the possibility of this being a real suspension by the WWE.
