WWE News: Carmella destroys a sexist journalist on Twitter
What's the story?
Carmella went on social media and responded to an article about '15 female wrestlers who wouldn't be considered attractive if they were never famous', and took the writer to task, with a Tweet on social media. This was the comment she posted on her Twitter account.
It was clear to see that she was disgusted by the article.
In case you didn't know...
Carmella was the winner of the first-ever 'Miss Money in the Bank' contest, a match embroiled in controversy as her companion, James Ellsworth, climbed the ladder and brought the briefcase to her hands. There was a rematch soon after, that she won fair and square.
Since then, she has been a constant threat to SmackDown Live Women's Champion, Natalya, with the element of uncertainty with regard to when she will cash in.
The heart of the matter
Here are some choice words that the writer had about Carmella in the article:
Luckily she’s in a period in which looks doesn’t matter much, for she may not have found her way past the WWE tryouts back in the day. Her loyal fans find her gorgeous, but the odds are low that they’d have a different opinion if it weren’t for her fame.
It is easy to see why Carmella would get worked up about an article of this nature and respond in the manner she did. The many likes and retweets that her post attracted reveals that much of the WWE Universe shares her sentiment, with regard to this.
What's next?
Carmella may not be in the Hell in a Cell card this weekend, but because she has a contract that she can cash in anytime, Natalya better watch out.
Author's take
One has to be blind to call Carmella unattractive really. With regard to her age, however, 29 may not be old, but Mickie James, at 38 has been booked in a program on RAW, that makes fun of her age. One wonders if this attitude stems from WWE programming, through the years.
