WWE News: Carmella on righting her "wrongs", 24/7 Title, R-Truth and more
What's the story?
Speaking to The Memphis Commercial Appeal, WWE Superstar Carmella opened up on a myriad of topics.
Addressing her recent run as an ally to R-Truth, while the latter continually finds himself going through championship reigns with the 24/7 Title, Carmella asserted that it's incredibly fun and she's glad that she gets to show a different side of her on-screen character.
Besides, Carmella noted that R-Truth is incredible, whilst also weighing in on a future reign as SmackDown Women's Champion, her advice to aspiring women's wrestlers, as well as dealing with certain negative fans on social media.
In case you didn't know...
Carmella is a former Women's Money in the Bank ladder match winner, besides also having held the SmackDown Women's Championship.
Following a brief stint as a mid-card Superstar in the Women's Division, Carmella recently found herself in a new role -- the ongoing storyline wherein she has been serving as an ally to R-Truth. Initially starting off with the duo hosting "dance breaks" on WWE TV; before consistently chasing the 24/7 Title for R-Truth, became another salient angle of their on-screen pursuits.
The heart of the matter
Carmella elucidated that her run alongside R-Truth for the 24/7 Title has been great, with the latter being an incredible, hilarious performer -- adding that they'll do whatever it takes, including over-the-top, comedic spots, to win and retain the 24/7 Championship.
Furthermore, Carmella emphasized that it would mean everything to her, as regards regaining the SmackDown Women's Championship; albeit this time around, she'd like to avoid using as many underhanded tactics as she did during her previous reign as the champion. Carmella stated --
"...right my wrongs I've had in the past and maybe do it a little differently."
"I feel like I had a good championship run, but I feel like I could be able to do it again in a different way...I was always cheating, and I was playing the bad guy before."
Moreover, her advice to aspiring women's wrestlers, as well as to male performers; is to develop a thick skin -- "The Fabulous One" insinuated that she doesn't let certain "less-than-kind fans" faze her.
Carmella pointed out that she loves to let fans in on the fact that, what you see on social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram isn't necessarily real life.
What's next?
Presently, Maria Kanellis, who's the first pregnant WWE 24/7 Champion, holds the title; with R-Truth and Carmella plotting to regain the Championship from Kanellis.
