WWE News: Cedric Alexander’s return is imminent
What’s the story?
As seen on tonight’s edition of 205 Live, WWE has started teasing the return of Cruiserweight Classic star Cedric Alexander. The youngster has been out of action since February, with the company now airing vignettes with no set return date as of yet.
In case you didn’t know...
Cedric Alexander was one of the most popular members of the CWC tournament last summer, with fans desperately chanting for him to be signed upon his elimination from the event. Their prayers were answered, and since then Alexander has done a decent enough job on 205 Live, with his most notable work being the odd relationship angle with Alicia Fox.
The heart of the matter
As we just mentioned there was a vignette that aired on the most recent episode of 205 Live, however, there was no date listed for his return. The original prognosis for his knee injury was three to five months, so it’s possible that he’s still waiting to be cleared and the company just want to build the anticipation for his arrival. There was no indication as to what storyline he’d be inserted into upon his return.

What’s next?
We’ll have to wait and see when Alexander will actually make his first re-appearance on WWE television, but don’t expect an Emmalina-esque wait. Following the upcoming title clash between Neville and Austin Aries it’s entirely possible that Cedric could be thrust into a feud with the King of the Cruiserweights, or potentially even the recently heel TJP.
Author’s take
It’s great to see that Cedric is on his way back from injury after a frustrating few months for him. Missing WrestleMania can’t have been easy, and despite the fact he may not have been in the card’s original plans, we’d love to see him bounce back next year and force his way into a spot on the card. Who knows, perhaps we could even see him with the purple strap in the next twelve months.
