WWE News: Steve from 'Blue's Clues' challenges John Cena to a wrestling match
What's the story?
John Cena is making a big mark outside WWE. Already having featured in successful films, including Oscar Nominated Animated Film, Ferdinand, Cena may be about to become the host for a famous Nickelodeon Children's show which is about to be rebooted. A picture of a Cena in a striped green Polo Neck shirt surfaced online, where he was reportedly auditioning for the role of the host of 'Blue's Clues'.
Whether Cena will get the role or not is a secondary matter, as the former host of Blue's Clues in an interview with TMZ, challenged Cena to a wrestling match for the role.

In case you didn't know...
Blue's Clues was a live-action animated children's television show on Nickelodeon. Steve Burns portrayed the host of Blue's Clues where he along with his viewers followed the treasure hunt of clues left by the animated dog, Blue.
Nickelodeon is set to reboot the series and held auditions for the role, where Cena was one of the auditionees. Cena is no stranger to working with Nickelodeon, as he hosted their Kid's Choice Awards in 2017.
The heart of the matter
Steve Burns spoke out in a video, where he talked about Blue's Clues being rebooted. In the video, he talked about how the previous generation was nostalgic about the show.
He mentioned how he felt that the host of Blue's Clues should be a regular looking guy, and was an 'average joe' and not some 'super buff' professional wrestler.
He then went on to say, that if John Cena is serious about hosting Blue's Clues, he and Steve should have a wrestling match.
The video ended with him saying that he was calling out Cena.
You can see a clip from the video here:
The video was obviously humorous in nature, but the fact of the matter is that according to TMZ, despite Cena and Steve both being in the running, the production of the show was considering a female host stepping in the role.
What's next?
Cena is currently involved in a storyline in WWE, where he is struggling to find his path to WrestleMania. On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, he finally challenged the Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania, but as of now, the Undertaker has not answered the challenge.
It also remains to be seen if Cena answers Steve's challenge. It would be interesting to see how Cena responds to the former host.
Author's take
Cena is no stranger to mixing things up with celebrities, and he has represented WWE a number of times in mainstream events. An interaction between Cena and Steve would surely be entertaining if nothing else.
